Through its title, inspiration ~ transpiration intends to situate the creative processes within the artist’s social and material environment, understood as a work ecosystem. The show addresses the conditions in which young and emerging artists work: precarious conditions of production, collaborative endeavors, and ever-changing exhibition contexts. The exhibition aims to show the pendulum dynamics, from the collection and sourcing of raw materials and data (inspiration), to its “sweaty” and singular precipitation into an aggregated form (transpiration). The project arose out of an invitation from one collective, (LA)HORDE, to another, Le Syndicat Magnifique, underlining the importance of collective work for a new generation of cultural workers.
